"Excellent presentation..Dr Schneider below made some good points.  Food and food selection as a part of the American culture makes lifestyle changes very hard for people. Our lifestyle is for few foods eaten at home which also adds to the mix. There are few monetary incentives for better lifestyle habits.  Even in the VA system, if a Vets A1c decreases he may not have to see his primary care physician and also get less travel pay if he lives a loong distance as he is not seeing his physician more often."
